Rachel has been teaching since 2019 explains how she enjoys teaching music to beginners in particular because "I feel a responsibility to encourage & excite others to gain these tools for self-expression... to help them cultivate love, patience, and a sense of communication in their creative practice." She loves traveling to students who live in rural areas where musical opportunity can sometimes be harder to access. Rachel teaches beginning-intermediate piano and beginner ukulele.
Mark is a talented multi-instrumentalist who has a lot to offer his students. He’s a Graduate of the Music Department at the University of Oregon, with years of teaching experience. His life-long focus on composition makes him a great match for those who have music theory and/or song writing in their future!
Brenna has always been passionate about music, starting singing at a young age and performing in local coffee shops beginning at 14. She was trained in jazz voice professionally, and received a great choral education in grade school, all of which led her to continue her studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. There, she began teaching, working with a local non-profit called North End Music Performing Arts Center. She continued teaching post graduation, teaching private lessons in guitar and voice to local students, and working with the CHS choir. Most recently she has taught at Clackamas Community College teaching private voice lessons, hosting songwriting workshops and more. She offers virtual learning options from her home studio in the Portland-metro area.
Rena's passion for percussion started when she joined the snare line in her high school marching band. She has been playing drums for almost a decade, has studied under several instructors, and has live studio drumming experience. Her Alternative/Rock/R&B band performs regularly at venues across Eugene and surrounding areas. Whether you want to learn how to put together simple rhythms, play along with your favorite songs, or learn how to perform alongside other musicians someday, Rena can help!
Josh is a highly accomplished pianist and performer. Since piano is his sole instrument, you can bet he knows his stuff! He has played piano since 2011, with a classical approach. Josh is a prime candidate for anyone seeking music lessons for the first time, or someone wanting to improve their piano skills. His thorough knowledge of Music Theory ensures a comprehensive learning experience. Josh is happy to meet face-to-face or offer online lessons on piano.
Berend is a student at the University of Oregon who started playing piano 20 years ago. Since then he has gained 12 years of experience on guitar, 8 years on bass guitar, as well as 3 years playing the pipe organ. He would be a great candidate for anyone approaching the keys with some more sophistication and style, or someone wanting to take their guitar playing to the next level.
James is a graduate of the Lane Community College Music Program. With 13-years of experience on the clarinet, he hopes to share his love for clarinet with students at the beginning or intermediate learning level. Accepting clients who live locally.
Sharlita has been playing guitar since the age of 14. Since then she has held the role of rhythmic guitar player in Jazz Band Ensembles, participated in community choirs, and experimented with the piano and the kalimba in her leisurely time. She teaches a variety of genres and enjoys helping her students gain confidence with technical skills. Her flexible approach and ability to meet her students where they're at makes her a great option for beginners or intermediate players looking to brush up their skills.
Hannah Willard is a violinist living in Eugene, Oregon. She plays in Eugene Symphony, Eugene Concert Orchestra, Rogue Valley Symphony, the Oregon Mozart Players Chamber Orchestra, among other local ensembles. Her Masters Degree in Violin Performance was completed in 2021, in which she also earned a certificate of violin/viola pedagogy. She provides instruction from beginner to collegiate level.
